Hyun Sun Jo (born in Seoul, Korea) is a painter whose primary concern for paintings lies in the language of abstraction using multiple layers of colors, forms, shapes, and texture. Growing up in both the Seoul Metropolitan region and one of Korea’s first new cities, Il-san, Jo’s interest in life between cities and nature is stemmed from the construction and deconstruction that happen constantly and simultaneously.
Jo received her MFA from California College of the Arts and BFA from San Francisco Art Institute. Her work has been presented in Seoul and San Francisco.
